In the heart of Barcelona’s up and coming tech neighbourhood Poblenou is IDEAL, originally a cinema, a movie set and now a centre for digital arts.  IDEAL is one of the first facilities in Europe dedicated to producing and showcasing digital arts projects, with special emphasis in immersive digital art.  Rather than permanent exhibitions, resident artists show their work alongside international experiences.

Visitors can step into the work of famous artists like Monet and Klimt or find themselves projected back in time and surrounded by people and buildings from another era.  Using virtual reality, holograms and audio-visuals the visitor is thrown into images, rather than simply watching them.  Like many of the contemporary art venues in Barcelona, IDEAL creates a new dialogue between society and art, as well as creating a space to develop immersive audio-visual projects.
